英文的台风是typhoon (/ta??fu:n/)，你是不是觉得念着很熟悉？没错，和中文里“台风”的发音很相似。

所以很多人认为的“typhoon”就是中文的“台风”的音译。

然而这种说法是不正确的，其实，英文中的“typhoon”最初是来自希腊神话一个体格无比庞大的怪物提丰。

提丰的名字叫做Typhon，在希腊语中就是“狂风、旋风”的意思。正好中国把西北太平洋的风暴叫台风，与希腊的typhoon发音相似，英语单词typhoon（台风）便来源于此。

如何防台风？

Stay indoors and keep calm.

尽量不要出门。并且保持镇静。
